John Buck, MD, FAAP

Board Certified in Pediatrics
Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics

Dr. Buck completed his undergraduate degree at University of California, Davis, with a major in Chemistry. He received his medical training at Albany Medical College in New York and went on to complete his residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD, before he joined ECP in 2001.  Dr. Buck was drawn to the field of pediatrics because he loves working with families to promote children growing and thriving. He has a special interest in allergies and asthma.
 
Dr. Buck was born in California, but grew up all over the world as an Army brat – Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Korea, New Jersey, and Hawaii. He is married to Erin and has five sons and one daughter; his large family keeps him busy and active! In his downtime, he enjoys running, hiking, exercising, playing music (piano and guitar), and spending time with his family.

Shannon Drohan, MD, FAAP

Dr. Drohan completed her undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University with a major in Microbiology. She received her medical training at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and went on to complete her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital in Charleston, SC, before she joined ECP in 2014. Dr. Drohan was drawn to the field of pediatrics because she loves being around children every day and finds it rewarding to watch them grow. Dr. Drohan has special interests in breastfeeding, allergy and asthma, and nutrition.
 
Dr. Drohan was born in New Jersey, but grew up in the Raleigh area since elementary school. She lives in Wilson with her husband, Ryan, who works at NC State, and their two daughters, Quinn and Eliza. When not at ECP, Dr. Drohan enjoys spending time with her family, trips to the mountains, hiking, kayaking, exercise, and crafting.

Ketarah Robinson, MD, FAAP

Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics

Dr. Robinson completed her undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University with a major in Psychology. She received her medical training at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and went on to complete her residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA, before she joined ECP in 2012.  Dr. Robinson was drawn to the field of pediatrics because she loves advocating for amazing children who do not always have the voice to advocate for themselves.
 
Dr. Robinson spent the majority of her childhood in Williamston, NC where she attended elementary and middle school with DeCraig, her husband. She enjoys traveling and playing outside with her two sons.

Amanda Brinson,
DNP, RN, CPNP

Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1996. She completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing with Pediatric Nurse Practitioner concentration at Duke University in 2004, and later her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2012 also at Duke. She returned to ECP in 2021 and also serves as the lead faculty member for UNC-CH Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program. Amanda was drawn to the field of pediatrics because she has always naturally gravitated toward infants and children. She describes knowing from an early age that her calling was pediatric healthcare. She loves watching children grow and learn and thrive and loves their resiliency and promise. She has special interests in Newborns, Lactation, Nutrition & Feeding, Adolescent Health, Immunizations, Wellness, Asthma/Allergies.
 
Amanda grew up in Eastern North Carolina in Pamilco County. She has four children – three daughters and one son (plus two fur babies – a dog and a cat). When not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her children, family and friends, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Amanda is highly involved in her children’s activities/sports – so she can often be found at games and performances!

Christina Poythress, PA-C

Christina attended Barton College where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She continued studies at Meredith College, receiving a Master’s of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Christina was drawn to the field of pediatrics because she loves being able to help children and their families, and she hopes to be a positive influence in their life.
 
Christina grew up in Louisburg, NC. She now lives in Wilson with her wonderful daughter, two cats, and one dog. When not at ECP, Christina loves spending time with her daughter and traveling.

Kim Pittman, NP-C

Kim received her Master’s of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration at Duke University. She joined ECP in 2014. Kim was drawn to the field of pediatrics because she truly loves working with children and their parents. She finds it a joy to watch them grow over the years into adulthood.
 
Kim grew up in Wilson, NC. She loves to be outdoors in my spare time by going for runs, hikes, or just simply taking a walk with family and friends.

We have a limited supply of Beyfortus, a monoclonal antibody to protect against RSV. This is recommended for all children 8 months and below at the start of RSV season, and recommended for children 8 months - 19 months that are considered high risk.
