Amanda Brinson, DNP, RN, CPNP

Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1996. She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing with Pediatric Nurse Practitioner concentration at Duke University in 2004, and later her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2012 also at Duke. She returned to ECP in 2021 and also serves as the lead faculty member for UNC-CH Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program. Amanda was drawn to the field of pediatrics because she has always naturally gravitated toward infants and children. She describes knowing from an early age that her calling was pediatric healthcare. She loves watching children grow and learn and thrive and loves their resiliency and promise. She has special interests in Newborns, Lactation, Nutrition & Feeding, Adolescent Health, Immunizations, Wellness, Asthma/Allergies.

Amanda grew up in Eastern North Carolina in Pamlico County. She has four children – three daughters and one son (plus two fur babies – a dog and a cat). When not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her children, family and friends, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Amanda is highly involved in her children’s activities/sports – so she can often be found at games and performances!
